DESIGNER INTRODUCTION #29: Katharina Kruppe

NAME: Katharina Kruppe, fashion
MY DESIGN PHILOSOPHY:
Clothes are not only black or grey…Be colourful, be happy…wear what you want and how you feel, don´t think about the opinion from other people.
MY COLLECTION:
Helene is a Collection for Autumn/ Winter 2011/12 inspired by the work of the finnish painter Helene Schjerfbeck.
Smooth lines, big drawn parts, expressive colours and sensitive atmospheres, are characteres which been used for these five different outfits. It is a game with the hard and soft lines, to find new stuctures and new ways to see the really punchy expression of Schjerfbeck´s pictures.
The big pattern without any darts and seems should catch the viewer´s eyes to the strong bright coloured prints. Round fallen shoulders and sillhouettes are an interpretation of her drawing charactere. Different kind of layers and transparency showing the deepness and interfused effect of her works.
This Collection, made for a strong, fashionable and really feminine woman is a homage to the amazing work of a great feminist.
